Return on investment: As a high value cash crop, potatoes need the best protection possible. Alias provides effective insect control at a price that puts more dollars in your pocket.
Group 4 mode of action: Alias, a neonicotinoid chemistry, controls insect pests through a combination of contact and ingestion modes of action. Rotation with other non-Group 4 chemistries will help to manage insecticide resistance. Do not follow a soil application with an in-season foliar application.
Extended control: Alias controls potato pests most effectively when applied as an in-furrow or seedpiece treatment at seeding. This application provides extended control of potato pests, which are key vectors that spread viruses. Up to 2 foliar applications can also be made in-season.
Additional crop flexibility: Alias also provides long-lasting control of other insect pests in tree fruits and vegetable crops.
Application and Use Guidelines:
Potato
Soil application: For long-lasting, systemic control, apply as a narrow band and direct-spray on the potato seed
pieces or seed potatoes in the furrow. Apply 345 mL to 525 mL/acre (based on a 90 cm row spacing), or 7.5
to 12 mL/100 m row using the higher rate for extended control and improved resistance management.
Seed piece treatment: When applying directly to seed pieces, apply Alias at a rate of 12 mL to 18 mL/100 pounds of seed pieces, ensuring each piece receives adequate coverage. For longer-maturing varieties, or extended control, use the higher rate.
Fungicide compatible: When applying to seed pieces, apply Alias first, followed by a fungicide dust.
Tree fruit, vegetables and potato
Foliar treatments: When pests are present at economic thresholds, apply Alias using a water volume that
provides good coverage. Insects are controlled by contact and ingestion.
Beat the weather: Multiple application methods give growers the flexibility to work around the weather. In-furrow, seed piece, or foliar, Alias gives growers the tools to manage insect pests.
Good stewardship: Like most insecticides, Alias is highly toxic to bees exposed to direct treatment or residues on blooming crops and weeds. Avoid application of Alias when bees are actively foraging, and work with beekeepers to help prevent accidental exposure.
