Group 7 mode of action: As a Group 7 residual herbicide, Diurex has a unique mode of action that rotates well with other herbicide groups to reduce the risk of herbicide resistance.
Keeps non-cropland clean: Diurex controls many annual and perennial grasses and broadleaf weeds on noncropland areas. Keeping these areas clean with a residual herbicide reduces labour costs, controls noxious weeds and reduces fire hazards.
Selective weed control in asparagus and grapes: Keep row crops clean with Diurex. Established grapes and asparagus benefit from clean rows that are free of weed competition.
Easy to use: Diurex 80WDG is a wettable solid to be mixed in water and applied as a spray to the surface of the ground for conrol of weeds.
Application and Use Guidelines:
Crop Staging:Grapes: Apply only to established vineyards (at least three years old) as a band application to grape rows.
Asparagus: Do not apply to newly seeded asparagus, or to young plants during the first growing season after setting or on plants with exposed roots as severe injury may result. Apply as a band or broadcast treatment. Two applications may be used.
Non-cropland: Diurex may be used at any time, except when ground is frozen. Best results are obtained when applied shortly before weed growth begins. Dense growth should be removed.
Target correct rates for soil type: Sandy and sandy loam soils require lower rates than clay and high organic soils. Use higher rates where perennial weeds are dominant on non-cropland. Consult the label for application rates.
Cover ground fast: Diurex is a water dispersible granule, which is a wettable solid, mixed in water and applied as a spray to the surface of the ground. Use sufficient water (100 to 160 L/acre of area actually sprayed) to provide thorough and uniform coverage.
Mixing instructions: Accurately weigh the amount of Diurex required and mix into necessary volume of water. Material must be kept in suspension at all times by agitation, preferably by continuous mechanical or hydraulic means in the spray tank.
Expected activity: Diurex requires moisture in the form of rainfall or irrigation after treatment. Effects are slow to appear and will not become apparent until the chemical has been carried into the root zone of the weeds by moisture.
