MANA Canada Announces Additions to Sales Team
Winnipeg, MB (October 11, 2011) – Makhteshim Agan of North America (MANA) Canada is pleased to announce that they have added three new members to their sales team. In western Canada, Buck Peters will serve as Area Business Manager – West Central Saskatchewan, and Kent Burnett will be the Area Business Manager – Southern Saskatchewan. Amanda Walsh joins the team as Area Business Manager – Quebec and Maritimes.
Peters’ diverse background includes sales, operations management and customer service. “Buck has demonstrated his considerable skills both in managing a multi-outlet ag retail operation and in sales. We look forward to the insights he will bring to the team,” says Andrew Mann, General Manager for MANA Canada. Peters spent close to 10 years as an independent Imperial Oil Ltd. Agent and with a large multi-outlet independent retailer. Most recently, Peters worked in sales as a territory manager with Univar Canada Ltd.
Burnett brings more than 10 years of experience in the crop protection industry to his new position with MANA. His extensive knowledge of the western Canadian agricultural market and established network of industry peers will be definite assets to the team. “Kent has a proven record in the crop protection business in Saskatchewan. He has built his career in this area over the last 10 years, and we’re happy to welcome him to the team,” says Mann. Burnett has held sales and territory management positions with Bayer CropScience’s InterAg division and with DuPont Canada throughout Saskatchewan.
Walsh studied Business and Environmental Sciences at the University of New Brunswick and also holds a Plant Sciences Technology Diploma from the Nova Scotia Agricultural College. “Amanda’s education and hands-on experience are an impressive combination,” remarks Phil Somerville, Eastern Canadian Business Manager for MANA Canada. “She has spent years developing a highly successful vegetable operation while gaining the support of a major grocery store chain to market her products. For the past year while working with the PEI Federation of Agriculture, Amanda has developed an extensive working relationship with PEI farmers. We are thrilled to have her join us at MANA Canada.”
The addition of the two western Canadian representatives prompts a change in MANA’s Saskatchewan sales team. Glen Douglas, previously the Area Business Manager – Eastern Saskatchewan, is now the Area Business Manager – North East Saskatchewan. MANA now has three Saskatchewan positions, allowing the Managers to focus their attention, providing even better service to customers throughout the province.
“The addition of these highly qualified individuals to an already strong sales team will further support our efforts with our customers. Having the right people who can help our customers be as successful as possible is paramount,” Mann concludes.
MANA’s Canadian team is committed to helping its customers achieve their business goals by becoming the premier provider of post-patent products in the Canadian crop protection market while providing profitable opportunities for their customer base.
